Give My Regards To Broadway! (part 2)

Big thanks to Daddy Chris for filming Katie's dances during dress rehearsal! Here are the dances live...at least live during dress rehearsal!!

Give My Regards To Broadway!

Dance recital #2 was last night and Katie did an outstanding job! Her tap routine went off without a hitch and the ballet production was great! We had a big crowd this year with Ya Ya, Mr. Steve, Uncle Paxton and Aunt Abby! Katie had quite the cheering section. I thought that the ballet butterfly costume was awesome and I think that it was Katie's favorite too! She really loved having wings and having the big girls in the dance hold them up in the air. I see lots of ballet lifts in Chris' future this summer with lots of re-enactments!!! Today is also the last day of first grade for my little Katie Kat. She is very excited to start some summer fun.....me too!! It will be nice to have a buddy around during the day. I hope you like the slide show of the dance pictures!

Flip Flops, Tank Tops, Hula Hoops and Singing

Oh man was Friday a super busy day. Katie had first grade splash day which was a total blast. Chris and I volunteered for a while and the kids were going crazy. They had two water slides, hula hoops, sidwalk chalk, jump ropes, water guns and lots of good snacks for the kids. The only down side was that I forgot my camera and so I do not have pictures from the occassion. Katie was supposed to have dance after school but we ditched it because she also had a school dance that evening! So at 6:00pm we headed over the to the Flip Flops and Tank Tops dance. It was way too much fun! Katie showed off her supreme Hula Hooping skills and won the Hula Hoop contest. Then she decided to do a little kareoke (spelling?). She is quite the singer!

Cutie Cousins

I have been waiting to post these pictures of Katie with her cousins from Phoenix for forever! I couldn't post them until Kathie opened her Mother's Day present because it was a picture of the kids. Anyway, here are the other pictures that we took that day.

If They Could See Me Now

Today is recital #1 day!! Katie looked so cute in her tap costume. Tonight is the big girl recital and she is only doing her tap routine. They are dancing to "If They Could See Me Now". The dance is super cute and the girls all worked so hard. Here are a couple of pictures from this mornings dress rehearsal. I am pretty much speechless when it comes to how grownup and beautiful I think my baby has become!! In case you can't tell she has become quite the picture taker and loves to pose for the camera.

Front Yard Fun

Between all the horrible rain storms that we have had, Katie actually got to have fun playing out in the front yard one afternoon with Snickers. Oh yeah, Snickers hasn't been officially introduced yet. She is the Yorkie puppy that Katie got a couple of weeks ago. I will put together some pictures of her. She is such a spunky little puppy! Anyway, Katie decided that she wanted me to take some pictures of her out in the front yard doing various things. My little girl is growing up so fast and she loves to model for the camera now which is great for me. I don't know of any other seven year old with so much personality (she obviously got that from her father). I can't believe that she only has 10 more days of school left. It just doesn't seem possible that my baby will be going to the second grade next year.

Field Day 2007

Katie had Field Day on Friday and had such a great time! I must say that my cutie daughter is quite the fast runner! She rocked the foot races. The kids participated in all kinds of events and everyone did great. I wish the weather would have been better because it was muggy and overcast but at least the rain held out. Here are some pictures from the event.

Thank You Very Much

Yes...thank you very much....I do accept the worse blogger award! I don't know what happened! I was doing so good, plugging along blogging regularly and then BAM .....nothing. I just kept getting busy with things..you know...Stars playoff games (let's not talk about that), substituting at Katie's school and well just plain living. I am recommiting myself to be a better blogger. I have so many pictures to post that it is crazy!

Dallas Stars Hockey

So last night I got to work at the door handing out promo materials at the Dallas Stars Game. My neighbor Jeff works for the Stars and said that they needed volunteers! It's pretty easy and you get to park in a close parking lot and go to the game after everyone comes in....not a bad deal!! I saw lots of people at the game....my other neighbor Jamie, our friend Linda Seddon. So, after getting my footlong hot dog and large diet coke we chose some great seats in the middle of the rink in the middle of the rows. Great seats to see the game except for the rather large man who first sat in front of me then moved in front of Jeff. Well.....during the game they have this thing called the Kiss Cam on the Jumbotron screen. My neighbor Jeff said wouldn't it be funny if they showed us and right after he said it, low and behold there we were on the Jumbotron with everyone waiting for us to kiss. Here is my question.....what would you have done....kiss your married neighbor for everyone to see on the Jumbotron or not kiss your neighbor? Keep in mind there were people there that you know. Click on the comment button and let me know what you would have done. I will keep you in suspense as to my actions until tomorrow!!!

Another First

I promised Katie that I would not post a picture on the blog but for some of you who didn't know, Katie got her first set of stitches a week ago. She was playing on the playground at recess and fell on the curb and cut her poor little knee. The cut wasn't too deep but kinda wide. We tried taking her to the regular doctor to get her knee glued together but they couldn't do it on the knee. So, Katie got to go to the emergency room to get five stitches. She did so great and was very brave. Chris and I were so proud of her.
